The toughest of all salad greens, this winter crop continues thriving in temps down to 0°F, but they survive best with a row cover or another form of protection. Spinach should be planted 8 to 8 weeks before the first frost.
Scallions, otherwise known as green onions, are the perfect plant to grow in the winter months.
