Whataburger Introduces New Pico de Gallo Burger for Summer

The temperature is heating up in Texas and so are the burgers at Whataburger! The fast food chain recently announced a fresh new burger for summer and it sounds drool-worthy. The new Whataburger Pico de Gallo Burger is your new favorite summer meal.

Meet the New Whataburger Pico de Gallo Burger

According to Whataburger, the new burger "starts with two perfectly cooked all-beef patties on a toasted five-inch bun, topped with three new ingredients: two slices of pepper jack cheese, fresh Pico de Gallo and a new Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce." Doesn't that sound delicious?!

Pico de Gallo, which roughly translates to "beak of rooster" is a bit different than salsa because it is uncooked and fresh. Unlike salsa which can range from chipotle peppers to different veggies, the recipe for Pico de Gallo stays relatively the same and includes ripe tomatoes, onion, garlic, jalapenos, salt, and lime juice.

"The ingredients in Pico de Gallo are simple - fresh onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and peppers - but, together, they create a cool flavor profile that we know our customers will love," said Whataburger Vice President of Marketing and Innovation Rich Scheffler. "The texture and color of the Pico elevates the burger, and the pepper jack cheese adds just a hint of heat. The new Creamy Cilantro Lime Sauce is delicious - both on its own and on the burger. I think it's the unique and innovative flavor Whataburger customers want in our limited-time menu items."

The new burger will only be around for a limited time so make sure you head to the burger joint as fast as possible! Or better yet, order it as delivery on the Whataburger App. Make sure to create an account as well to start earning rewards (like free food!).

Pico-loving fans can also order the new pico de gallo on their favorite Whataburger menu items such as salads to grilled chicken sandwiches.
