There's a new Whataburger food truck hitting the highway and it could be coming to a city near you! According to San Antonio-based fast food chain Whataburger, the new showstopper food truck was launched as the chain celebrated its 70th anniversary during an educator-appreciation event at The DoSeum.
The new food truck, which was built in partnership with Cruising Kitchens, a San Antonio-based company and the leading food truck and mobile business fabricator in the world, features 24 feet of cooking space powered by a 30,000-watt generator. Built for business, the burger chain food truck will embark on a multi-state tour in 2021, bringing spicy ketchup and Whataburgers to customers in existing markets. Whataburger also has plans to bring the truck to new markets as Whataburger locations expand. The company also plans to utilize the truck during natural disasters and emergency events.
Whataburger Unveils New Food Truck
"We wanted a way to connect even more with our communities and to introduce Whataburger to new customers in a new and exciting way," said Rich Scheffler, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation for Whataburger in a statement on the Whataburger site. "And this truck is a showstopper."
Thirty laminated panels wrap it from bumper to bumper and LED lights give the truck a distinctive glow. According to Whataburger, the fabrication of the truck will be featured on an episode of "Built for Business," Cruising Kitchens' MotorTrends TV show.
"We have worked on the idea of a Food Truck for years," Scheffler said. "But we didn't want it to roll out of the garage until it could turn heads and bring our restaurant-quality food to the road. This truck fits the bill."
