It's official! Wendy's is finally bringing back its Spicy Chicken Nuggets and we can thank the internet for it. The fast food chain pulled the spicy nuggets from their menu back in 2017, sharing that fans of the spicy chicken could still get their fix by ordering a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Fan were upset and secretly hoped the spicy chicken would make a comeback, and it seems like they can thank Chance the Rapper for bringing their chicken back.

Chance the Rapper, an American rapper and activist, likes to share positive content on his Twitter feed. On May 4th the rapper shared, "Positive Affirmations for today: I WILL have a good day, I Will succeed today, Wendy's WILL bring back spicy nuggets at some point please please Lord let it be today."

Wendy's social media team was quick to respond with a pun, "It won't be today, but there is a chance."

A few hours later, after the tweet was getting a ton of attention, Wendy's came back stating that they finally struck a deal with the boss. "Y'all keep asking, so here's your chance. The people in charge say if you guys can get our tweet (this one right here) to 2 Million likes, they will bring SPICY CHICKEN NUGGETS BACK. Let's freakin' do this!"

Not even a day and a half later the brand reached its goal.

This isn't the first time Wendy's Twitter account has made headlines with its social media marketing strategy. Back in 2017 16-year-old Carter Wilkerson asked Wendy's on Twitter how many retweets it would take to earn a year of free chicken nuggets. Wendy's responded with 18 million, and the race was on. Celebrities and companies like Microsoft retweeted the tweet and Carter's tweet became the most retweeted tweet in history, passing Ellen's Oscar selfie. He reached 3.42 million retweets and Wendy's decided it was enough to give him free nuggets for a year.

While the fast food joint doesn't know the exact date the chicken nuggets are coming back, they are proud to share that the fan favorite is making a come back. We can't wait.
