Get a Wendy's Salad for Free to Celebrate the Start of Fall

There's more to fall than pumpkin spice. Apples, cranberries, and walnuts all evoke that feeling of cool, crisp weather, too, and Wendy's first-ever fall salad goes all in on those seasonal flavors. A Wendy's salad isn't the first thing you might think of ordering from the fast food chain, but if you're looking for a healthy alternative to a Frosty and fries, check out the Harvest Chicken Salad.

The new salad starts with hand-chopped romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, and spring mix lettuce, then adds brown sugar walnuts, red and green apples, feta cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, and a savory apple cider vinaigrette dressing by Marzetti Simply Dressed. Then the fresh-made salad is topped with a warm, freshly grilled chicken breast for either a complete meal or a healthy side dish.

"The first time I tried our new Harvest Chicken Salad, it was so good that I immediately wanted everyone else to try it too," said Kurt Kane, Wendy's executive vice president, chief concept and marketing officer. "That's why we're offering a deal in our mobile app to get a free half-size Harvest Chicken Salad with purchase. Crisp apples, brown sugar walnuts, bacon, and apple cider vinaigrette have never tasted so delicious."

The Wendy's salad comes in two sizes. The full size comes with two packets of dressing, has 570 calories, and sells for $6.79. The half-size salad comes with one packet of dressing and has 320 calories; you can pick it up for $4.79.

Wendy's wants everyone to love the Harvest Chicken Salad as much as they do, so beginning Sept. 22, the first day of fall, and running through Oct. 7, the fast-food chain will offer customers a free half-size Harvest Chicken Salad with the purchase of anything other Wendy's menu item. You'll need to download the Wendy's app to take advantage of the deal, which you can do here; the offer is good for one salad per mobile account.
