The idea of wrestling a giant reptile out of a restaurant might, for some, sound like a nightmare, for one French waitress in Australia, it's just another day in paradise. 25-year-old Samia Lila was tending to her customers when what she thought was a dog wandered inside and started alarming the customers.
They weren't alarmed because an animal was inside - they were alarmed because of exactly what kind of animal it was. A huge goanna with the tail as long as her arm decided to catch some shade and maybe some table scraps inside Mimosa Wines in New South Wales, Australia.
Ms. Lila told Fairfax Media via 7 Yahoo News, "I looked at it and thought it was a dog at first! But then I realized it was a goanna ... I wasn't scared, I like reptiles so was a bit excited."
Girl, thank God you live in Australia and love reptiles. Watch Samia wrangle the goanna by the dang tail and drag it outside where it belongs as it writhes every step of the way.
Unwelcome visitor in the restaurant today was no match for French waitress Samia ( Goanna Girl ) !!

She blocked the goanna with a chair, then worked up the nerve to pull it outside from a trick she learned from her boss and winery owner, Glenn Buston.
In Buston's words, what Ms. Lila did was "what Aussies do when a goanna comes inside." Because that's normal. In Australia. She put on quite a successful show for the customers and is now making the rounds as a viral sensation.
Either way, Samia Lila, we salute you here at Wide Open Eats in Texas because the last time I saw a cockroach in my apartment, I tried to sic my cat on it instead of handling it myself. Side note: My cat ate it.
