If you’ve ever wanted a real life, Madame Tussauds-esque cake then Sideserf Cake Studio in Austin, Texas is your place. Well known for their appearance on Texas Cake House on Food Network, this Austin cake studio is constantly shocking fans with their larger than life and eerily realistic cakes. Breaking Bad fan? Do you love Willie Nelson? They’ve done that, too.
When owners Dave and Natalie Sideserf first opened their doors to the public eye, there’s no denying they underestimated what they were in for. However, when you open a business, you have to go all in, and the Sideserfs did just that.
Since then, there’s been no looking back. Their cakes transcend the realm of food and are simply art at this point. The cake game will never be the same.
In February 2012 my brother who lives in Tokyo posted this picture of one of the first sculpted cakes I ever made on Reddit where it reached the #1 submission on the front page. It was the reason I started #sideserfcakestudio, and I still love it. Happy Birthday, @willienelsonofficial #sideserfcakes
