Watch out, Galveston! In the fifth season of Property Brothers' spinoff Brother vs. Brother, Jonathan and Drew Scott are headed to Southeast Texas. Set on the bayside of Galveston Island, the two brothers will compete to see who can most effectively use $600,000 to renovate and sell a home at the widest profit margin. The $600,000 budget includes the home and the materials to renovate and finish it.
At the end of the project, a guest judge - who often comes from another HGTV show - will make the final decision on who designed the winning home.
To help them out, the brothers have brought in two Houston interior designers. Beth Lindsey of Beth Lindsey Interior Design on Team Drew and Marie Flanigan of Marie Flanigan Interiors on Team Jonathan.
These two designers are hopping onto the team to help from square one. They will plan, surface, design, and finish the Scotts' projects just like they would for any other client. Final design choices will, of course, come down to the brothers' preferences.
And their preferences in design will make all the difference.
What to Expect from the Season
The Scotts both chose two-story island homes on stilts, done in a typical tropical color pallet. Yards, too,l are nearly identical with palm trees catching faint coastal breezes and colorful shrubbery polka dotting the yard to break up the monotony.
The question is, how will they set these two properties apart? The brothers aren't all work and no play, however. Snippets from the series show them hanging out at the beach and kicking back and relaxing between their spurts of design inspiration.
So if you're ready for a beach vacation from the comfort of your own home, tune into Brother vs. Brother on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM CT on HGTV for a quick evening escape to the coast.
