The Great American Baking Show is Looking For Contestants and Here's How to Apply

The makers of the Great British Baking Show are crossing the pond and bringing the full-fledged baking show back to America! Originally airing in 2015 as the Great American Baking Show: Holiday Edition, the American spin-off of the highly popular British baking show has certainly seen its share of ups and downs, including an unfinished season in 2017 due to allegations of sexual misconduct from judge Johnny Iuzzini.

The Great America Baking Show is Looking For Contestants

The tv show which airs on ABC just finished up its fifth season and they are already looking for the best amateur bakers to join for season six and it could be you! Imagine baking in the tent with Paul Hollywood and winning star baker during bread week. If that's not a dream come true I don't know what is!

According to the casting website, producers are looking for people with a real passion for baking. You have to be an amateur to enter (sorry, no pastry chefs here!), so as long as you haven't worked in a professional kitchen or earn your main source of income from baking, you are good to apply. It's not clear yet whether Love Productions USA will be running it as a holiday show or following the Great British Bake-Off format. Fingers crossed it is the latter so we can enjoy cookie week, dessert week, tarts week, and of course, bread week.

To apply, check out the production website and fill out the hefty 75-part questionnaire which includes photos of your favorite bakes and even a 1-2 minute video explaining why you would be a great contestant on the tv series. You have to be quick though, applications end on February 28th, 2020, giving you less than a week to get your applications up and ready. So what are you waiting for? Let's get baking!
