Reese's Take5 Bar Breaks Snickers Guinness World Record After 2 Weeks

Who's the biggest and baddest candy around? It's Reese's Take5 Candy! Just two weeks ago, Wide Open Eats and Wide Open Country traveled to the Snickers manufacturing plant in Waco, Texas where they unveiled the biggest chocolate nut bar and set a new Guinness World Record. The giant Snickers candy bar weighed 4,728 pounds. But it looks like the brand has some fierce competition from Hershey and the Take5 candy bar, who just crushed their record.

The record-breaking bar was built at Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, PA and features five delicious layers of Reese's peanut butter, milk chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and pretzels. "The Reese's team believes records, even those just a few weeks old, are meant to be broken," said Veronica Villasenor, senior director Reese's brand. "You might not have been familiar with Reese's Take 5 before, but now, the bar will become your newest obsession."

According to the press release, the chocolate bar measures 9 feet long by 5.5 feet wide by 2 feet high and weighs 5,943 pounds. That's 1,215 pounds bigger than the Snickers bar. The giant chocolate candy only took five days to complete with help from a team of over 40 individuals from The Hershey Company research and development center and manufacturing facilities. That's a big delicious treat!

What is a Take5 Bar?

When it comes to snacking, Reese's Take5 Candy bars are packed with everything you could ever ask for. The first time I tried one I was blown away. It's all my favorite candy wrapped up in one! While you can eat the snack size candy bars as is (or chilled in the freezer!), my favorite thing to do is use them in cookie recipes. The easiest way to make chewy cookies is to grab refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough from the grocery store. Chop up snack-size bars (this is the best way because you don't have to individually unwrap every candy) and stir them into the cookie dough and bake until golden brown.
