Taco Cabana Adds Dr Pepper Margarita to Menu

Hip hip hooray, it is Margaritapalooza at Taco Cabana! Starting July 3rd, Texas-based Taco Cabana is offering 12 brand new margarita flavors, one of which is Dr Pepper. Start 4th of July weekend with a bang and choose between traditional flavors such as lime and strawberry, or go a little crazy with options like mango, blue curacao, passion fruit, mojitorita, frosé, prickly pear, Dr Pepper, mangonada and watermelon, as well as the Star-Spangled Banner margarita which is a patriotic layered drink with lime, strawberry and blue curacao.

Taco Cabana Releases New Dr Pepper Margarita

There's nothing more Texas than a Dr Pepper margarita. The first of its kind (really, an extensive Google search revealed zero recipes for Dr Pepper Margaritas), it is almost impossible to wrap your head around the flavor. One user on Twitter shared that it has the ability to "be amazing or nauseating. There is no in-between."

Wide Open Media Commerce Writer Allison Johnson tried the margarita and was taken aback. "The nastiest margarita I've ever had... and this is coming from someone who used to drink everclear with Gatorade."

"Taco Cabana has always been the go-to place in Texas for great margaritas," said Fiesta Restaurant Group President and CEO, Rich Stockinger in a news release, "We're excited about these new flavors and all for just $2 each.

Buying margaritas for a crowd? (Hopefully a socially-distance crowd). Purchase one of Taco Cabana's famous on-the-rocks margaritas by the gallon for only $34.99. This weekend only guests may purchase 2 gallons of Lime, Strawberry, Mango or Blue Curacao flavors for $60.

While at Taco Cabana make sure to check out their all-day breakfast which includes selections such as bacon & egg tacos, brisket & egg tacos, steak fajita & egg tacos, and bean and cheese tacos.

The drinks will be available for dine-in, drive-thru, or pick-up with a food purchase at all participating locations in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and El Paso for a limited time.
