Taco Bell Menu Changes You Need to Know About

Update: March 10, 2021

It's back! According to Taco Bell, Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and the Spicy Potato Soft Taco will be back after getting gutted in August to simplify the Taco Bell menu during the pandemic.

Update: September 3, 2020

Taco Bell is not messing around. They've announced even more changes to the menu and it's pretty depressing. According to Taco Bell, Mexican Pizza, shredded chicken, and pico de gallo are getting the boot to make room for new items. Those who are looking for a healthier topping option can choose chopped tomatoes on their tacos instead of sour cream, shredded cheese, mayo-sauces, and nacho cheese sauce.

Taco Bell is also adding a few new items including the Chicken Chipotle Melt, Dragonfruit Freeze, and green sauce available in regional areas. The brand is also currently testing out the Quesalupa in Knoxville, Tennessee this month.

The Taco Bell menu just got a little bit smaller. Rumors started the spread last week on Reddit and social media that Taco Bell was getting rid of all the potato items. The fast food chain was quick to share that 12 popular menu items will be getting the ax come August 13. In an effort to clear space on the menu and to create a more efficient Taco Bell experience, the Taco Bell menu change includes cutting old favorites, like the 7-layer burrito, from the menu. Don't worry, your Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos aren't going anywhere.

Taco Bell to Change Menu

According to a press release on the Taco Bell website, the fast food chain has been making changes since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, focusing on team member and customer safety. Taco Bell knows that change can be daunting. Thankfully you can still get your fan favorites for a few more weeks until they are gone for good.

"And while change is hard, a simplified menu and innovation process will leave room for new fan favorites, continued progress in categories such as plant-based diets, and even opportunities for the return of some classics on a limited-time basis." The company shares in its press release.
