In exciting fast food news, Taco Bell announced in February that it's letting customers be in control with their new $5 Build Your Own Cravings Box. Customers can create their own combo meals with up to 18 variations, including vegetarian options. Nikki Lawson, Taco Bell's chief global brand officer said, "As we see it, there aren't a lot of choices out there when it comes to value, forcing customers to play by others' rules...but when your fans have different favorites on the menu, why not celebrate that?"
Fast food chains like McDonalds have been relying on the use of celebrity collaborations to entice customers. Taco Bell won't be exclusively working to create a celebrity meal, but instead will have popstars and actors sharing their own unique creations and encouraging fans to share theirs.
The cravings box is available to order through the Taco Bell App. If you were already a Taco Bell rewards member, you got early access on February 2nd, while all other digital customers had to wait until February 11th. As a reward for signing up, new members get a free Doritos Locos taco. App members also get exclusive deals throughout the year, like the free Chalupa Cravings Box.
This Taco Bell Box is only available for digital orders that prepay. The app is the best way to receive contactless delivery at the drive-thru. This only applies for in person pick-up and not delivery.
What Are the Options In a Taco Bell Box?
With this new format, customers can pick various menu items for the 4 different categories of the box.
Choose one signature item from the Chalupa Supreme, Cheesy Gordita Crunch, or Crunchwrap Supreme.
Choose one of the following: A Crunchy Taco, Soft Taco, Beefy 5-Layer Burrito, or Bean and Cheese Burrito.
Choose your savory or sweet option: Chips & Nacho Cheese Sauce or Cinnamon Twists.
You can choose one medium fountain drink. Everyone knows you can't go to Taco Bell without ordering a Baja Blast, so you may want to splurge and add that as well.
While this taco bell box is advertised as $5, the fine print states this may vary by Taco Bell location.
Look Out For Taco Bell's New Menu Items
While not technically brand new, Taco Bell is re-releasing their Spicy Potato soft taco and Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes after pulling them during the pandemic. Sadly, the Mexican pizza will not be returning.
Taco Bell will be creating a plant based meat option later this year. The company has partnered with Beyond Meat to create something delicious for their vegetarian customers.
