Are you sitting down? No? In that case, sit down. Now stand back up. OK, one last time, sit back down again. We have an incredibly urgent news announcement for you. No, we don't have any update on North Korea nor do we have an update on Irma. (Our thoughts are with those effected by the recent hurricane in Houston and what's to come for Florida, though.) This is a different kind of news, and it's coming straight from the drive-thru. Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes have arrived.
Grab the nearest millennial and run to Starbucks. He or she (who are we kidding, she) will thank you for the small-scale abduction. Now that fall is imminent, every woman, man, child, and probably even dog is ready to put pumpkin spice on everything.
This trend is nothing new. Starbucks originally started brewing up PSLs, as the pumpkin spice latte is now lovingly called, in 2003. According to Today, they've sold more then 350 million PSLs since then globally. Yeah, it is ridiculous. People will continue to love and "love" them, though.
Fall and pumpkin spice go together like fall and pumpkin spice lattes. It's as simple as that. Fall doesn't begin for a few weeks, but we've known about the PSL's release date for a while.
Baristas went to Reddit not too long ago, letting Redditers worldwide know that pumpkin spice syrup had arrived. (No, they weren't excited. They were filled with dread. Dread-filled baristas.)
Once people heard this, they were beyond excited. We'd even say they were unreasonably excited. Customers, however, were not thrilled.

The PSL release wasn't exactly synchronized. Some people got them on September 1. Others did not. Now, though, the pumpkin spice latte is available worldwide as far as we can tell.
Get your camera ready, think of one trendy hashtag and one zany hashtag that will make your followers LOL, and go snap your first PSL of the season!
