Slow Cooker Cherry Cobbler

If you're only using your Crock-Pot for pot roast and apple butter, you're missing out. Fruit cobblers are one of the best dessert recipes you can make in your Crock-Pot. Slow cooker cherry cobbler is a delightful dessert your whole family will love and it's such an easy thing to make. Slow cooker desserts follow the same fix it and forget it plan as other slow cooker recipes. This cherry cobbler recipe is a little like a dump cake; all you have to do is dump the ingredients in your slow cooker, turn it on and let it cook!

This easy recipe only has four ingredients and five minutes of prep time. Start by lightly greasing or using cooking spray on the basin of a 5 quart or larger slow cooker. Open one 21 ounce can of cherry pie filling and spread over the bottom of the slow cooker. In a mixing bowl, combine a box of yellow cake mix and 8 tablespoons of melted butter. The mixture forms a dough that will look pretty crumbly. Spread the dough over the cherries in the slow cooker, and then top with the toasted nuts, if you're using them. We think pecans, walnuts or almonds are all great choices.

Put the cover on the slow cooker for about three hours of cook time, or until the cake dough has set and is moist, but not sticky. Serve while it's still warm, with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. This slow cooker cherry cobbler is great for parties, too. You can leave the cooked dessert on warm and let guests serve themselves in cute party bowls. The serving size for this Crock-Pot cherry cobbler means you should get about six servings, so if you're throwing a party, plan to make two!
