Restaurant Week Kicks off in the Texas Hill Country to a Delicious Start

Restaurant weeks across the country exist to highlight the local cuisine and draw attention to the hardworking restaurant teams that create and sustain them. The name is slightly misleading because from January 15 through January 27, 2018, restaurants in the Texas Hill Country will see special prix-fix menus and pricing. Culinaria is a local nonprofit in San Antonio that was created to promote the complex and outright delicious restaurants in the city. A premier food and wine destination, you'll find yourself visiting more than a few San Antonio restaurants during the 14-day period.

Culinaria is committed to "fostering community growth and enrichment within the city we call home," and what we love most about this event is that it's homegrown and celebrates the establishments that serve hometown folks, like us.

Restaurant week isn't just for San Antonio, either. Over 100 restaurants from the Hill Country are participating this year. For the first time, restaurants in Boerne and New Braunfels are also taking part in the fantastic event. The restaurants listed will present special three-course prix-fix menus for lunch and dinner, while those restaurants are organized into groups of Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Tier 1 restaurants will provide lunch at $15, while dinner will clock in at $35. Tier 2 restaurants provide lunch at $10, while dinner is $25. Reservations aren't required, but suggested and encouraged during dinner time. Here are a five standout selections from each list.
