This 9-inch Reese's Peanut Butter Pie Brings Thanksgiving to a New Level

Pie is on everyone's mind as we get closer to the holidays. Many of us are weighing the benefits of pumpkin cheesecake or pumpkin pie, chocolate pecan pie or classic apple. Another pie that has taken the internet by storm is the Reese's peanut butter pie, a pie-sized peanut butter cup to rival all other sweets on the holiday table!

Reese's Thanksgiving Peanut Butter Pie

Reese's, which is owned by Hershey, is going all out this year by giving peanut butter lovers the pie of their dreams. The latest Reese's peanut butter cup is truly the size of a pie, with a 9-inch diameter and weighing over 3 pounds.

Bo Jones, senior associate brand manager at Reese's says "When you bring together friends and family for Thanksgiving dinner, no table spread is complete without dessert. At Reese's, we wanted to create a dessert that everyone wants a piece of. You can thank us later."

Many brands release special Thanksgiving-themed treats this time of year, like Krispy Kreme's pie-themed doughnuts and Jones Soda's turkey and gravy flavor. However, few are as exciting as an entire pie made of Reese's peanut butter.

Unfortunately, the number of Reese's peanut butter lovers outnumbered the amount of giant Reese's cups, so the 3,000 Reese's peanut butter pies have already sold out in a matter of hours! We can only hope that Reese's will whip up a few thousand more of these peanut butter delights, or that this will become a yearly tradition.

Peanut Butter Cup Pie

For those who are now craving a peanut butter pie for Thanksgiving, you can make your own version! It might not be the official Reese's peanut butter pie that took the internet by storm, but it will still be decadent and full of creamy peanut butter. You'll need 30 minutes total time, an electric mixer, and a family ready to gorge themselves on chocolate and peanut butter.

This no-bake dessert features Oreo's, cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, whipped cream, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, vanilla extract, peanuts and milk chocolate. If you want to make this peanut butter pie recipe even easier, swap out the heavy cream-based whipped cream for pre-made cool whip as your whipped topping.

You can make this no-bake pie your own, by topping with chocolate chips, brownie crumbles or hot fudge for extra chocolate. Although the recipe calls for chopped peanut butter cups, you can use mini peanut butter cups if that's easier. For a less chocolatey dessert, use a graham cracker crust for your pie crust rather than going for Oreo. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Whether you're one of the lucky 3,000 people to obtain a Reese's peanut butter pie or you're a home cook who made your own, a peanut butter pie can only make Thanksgiving more delicious!
