Ree Drummond Is Starring in a New Christmas Movie

The Pioneer Woman is the star of the show when it comes to baking, cooking, and all things comfort food. However, it turns out her talents extend beyond the kitchen. Ree Drummond is acting in a Christmas movie called "Candy Coated Christmas," which will come out just in time for the holiday season.

In her acting debut, Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond will be playing a bakery owner, which couldn't be more fitting. The movie will focus on a young woman, played by Molly McCook, who comes back to Peppermint Hollow, the small town where her mother lived. The woman's business venture plans fail, but instead, she makes friends with a bakery owner (Ree Drummond).

According to Variety, the bakery owner's role was specifically created for the Food Network star and her friendly personality, along with her home cooking skills. As explained by Kathleen Finch, Discovery's chief lifestyle brands officer, "Ree is the epitome of a female-skewing Food Network talent. We put her and all these fun ideas into a pot and came up with this fun idea."

Candy Coated Christmas is the first original scripted film on Discovery plus. Its production has been a collaboration between the streaming service and Food Network.

Drummond said, "'Candy Coated Christmas' was so much fun to be part of; it had all the magical elements that make holiday movies so special. Any initial nerves I felt about joining this project completely melted away when I stepped into the sweet, charming world of Peppermint Hollow!"

Along with a Christmas movie, there will be related content to "Candy Coated Christmas" coming out, like recipes for Food Network. The network already does seasonal specials for holidays like Halloween, Christmas and New Year's Day, so this be the perfect addition.

The new Christmas movie starring Ree Drummond will premiere on Discovery plus on November 19th, so fans should keep an eye out to watch our favorite home cook starring on the big screen.
