First thing's first: get together your ingredients. You'll need 1 pounds ground venison, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 a teaspoon of ground ginger, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 a teaspoon ground black pepper, 2 tablespoons of frozen butter, grated, as many burger buns as you'll need, and some shredded cabbage and Sriracha mayo for condiments.

If you'd like to have ketchup or BBQ sauce as additional condiments or want to add extras like red onion, cheddar cheese for cheese burgers, caramelized onions, minced garlic, arugula, or jalapenos on top of the burgers, go nuts! Some recipes call for additional ingredients in the patties as well, like breadcrumbs and Worcestershire sauce, but we're sticking with this recipe.

How to Make Venison Burgers

The first step is to preheat your grill, cast iron skillet, or cast iron pan to medium-high heat. Then, mix together the deer meat, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, ginger, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.

Next, add in the grated butter and quickly mix, making sure the butter does not melt! Then, you're going to go ahead and form the venison meat and other ingredients into patties and cook on the grill, grilling for about 5-8 minutes per side.

Cook to desired doneness and let rest for 5 minutes before assembling your juicy burger with your other ingredients. You can also go ahead and heat up or toast the hamburger buns if you want to get super fancy, or use brioche buns instead. The sky is the limit with these delicious venison burgers! With fast prep time, and less cholesterol and carbohydrates than ground pork or beef, these crispy burgers will be your favorite in no time.
