Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 3 hours
- 1 can cherry pie filling (about 21 oz)
- 1 box yellow cake mix (about 18 oz)
- 8 tbs butter, melted
- 1/2 cup toasted nuts (Optional. We like almonds, pecans, or walnuts for this)
Lightly grease the basin of a 5 quart or larger slow cooker.
Add the pie filling and spread over the bottom.
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix and melted butter. Dough will stay pretty crumbly. Spread the dough over the cherries in the slow cooker, and top with the toasted nuts.
Cover and cook until cake dough has set and is no longer sticky, but still moist. That'll take about 3 hours.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream and enjoy!
