Pigs in a Blanket Pull-Apart Bread

It doesn't matter if your guests are little kids or adults, everybody likes pigs in a blanket as party food. Seriously, put out the hot dogs or little smokies sausages wrapped in a crescent roll and watch everyone ignore the "fancy" appetizers. There's a way to make this snack even more fun; we promise if you serve this pigs in a blanket pull-apart bread at your next get-together, you'll be the party VIP.

These pull apart pigs in a blanket are super easy to make. You need pizza dough, either homemade or store bought, sun dried tomato spread, and two packages of lil' smokies sausages. Roll out the pizza dough and slice it into rectangles, then spread a small amount of sun dried tomato spread on the piece of dough. Wrap the lil' smokie in each dough strip and pinch it closed.

Place the sausage roll ups into a springform pan, working from the outside of the cake pan into the middle. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover the pan and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve the pigs in a blanket pull-apart bread with your favorite dipping sauce (or sprinkle shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese over the top before baking) and enjoy the high fives from party guests!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 70 lil'smokies sausages (about two packages)
  • 1/4 cup sun dried tomato spread

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375ºF. Spray the springform pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  • On a clean surface, roll the dough 1/4 inch thick. Slice the dough into 1" by 2"inch pieces. Spread a small amount of sun dried tomato spread on the piece of dough. Wrap the lil' smokie in each dough strip and pinch closed.
  • Once all the sausages are wrapped, place the wrapped sausages in the pan, working your way towards the middle. Cover the pan with foil and bake 30 minutes. Uncover the pan and cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is browned. Remove from the oven and let sit 15 minutes. Remove the bread from the springform pan and serve warm.

Notes

You can use refrigerated pizza dough from the bakery section of your grocery store.
If you like it cheesy sprinkle the top with 1 cup shredded cheese before baking.
