The McDonalds McFlurry has been around for almost 25 years and there's a reason the fast-food frozen treat is one of the chain's most popular menu items. It takes the best parts of an ice cream sundae and mixes it up so that you get the topping goodness in every single bite. But if you'd rather try your hand at making a McFlurry at home, we've got a DIY Oreo McFlurry recipe right here.
Place three cups of vanilla ice cream (or be more authentic and use soft serve instead) in a blender, along with 1/2 cup milk and two tablespoons of half and half. Add 1/2 cup of Oreo cookies (or your favorite chocolate sandwich cookie pieces) and blend until the ice cream mixture is smooth.
This copycat Oreo McFlurry recipe makes two servings, so share the ice cream and crunchy Oreo treat with your favorite person. If you like, add in other toppings like chocolate chips or caramel sauce for extra fun.
No blender? No problem with this homemade McFlurry! Simple mix it together it a large bowl (or a single serving in a cup). This copycat recipe doesn't require much and can be customized with so many different options like caramel sauce, Reese's peanut butter cups, Butterfinger candy, heck, even chocolate chip cookies. If you want it super thick (not like a milkshake), use less whole milk and half-and-half. If you want it really authentic, go out and purchase vanilla soft-serve...but if you are already out might as well grab a McFlurry from McDonald's.
In a blender combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, half-and-half and 1/4 cup of oreos and blend until smooth. Add the rest of the oreos and stir. Serve with straws and spoons.
Not into Oreos? Substitute your favorite candy bar for the crushed Oreos.
If you want this to taste exactly like the real thing, buy a gallon of soft serve from the local ice cream store and use it in place of the vanilla ice cream.
Serve this copycat McFlurry with Baked Pickle Chips for a sweet and salty combo.
