Margarita Jello Shots

Any party is better when you can make drinks ahead of time. And any party is more fun when those make-ahead drinks double as decoration, too. These margarita jello shots are both cute and tasty and are sure to make your next party one heck of a good time.

Margarita jello shots are also simple to make since most of the prep time is while you wait for things to cool or set. All you need is one cup water, one box of lime jello, two tablespoons of lime juice, 3/4 cup tequila and 1/4 cup Cointreau. Prepare the jello mix by dissolving it in boiling water, then let it cool to room temperature. When the mixture is cool, stir in the lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau.

Here's the fun part. You can make the jello shots in lime wedges so that the treat is both tasty and super cute. Cut the limes in half lengthwise and scoop the flesh out with a spoon, leaving a kind of bowl. Set the limes on a tray and pour the jello mix into each of the lime halves. Set the tray in the refrigerator so that jello sets, which should take a total time of about 4 hours, but you can also refrigerate them overnight.

When you're ready for party time, slice the lime halves into wedges and top the lime slices with coarse salt. And yes, you can make these tasty tequila jello shots in plastic cups or shot glasses, but the boozy limes are really too cute to resist.
