If you're not familiar with milk punch, get ready for a treat in a glass. This Southern cocktail recipe is smooth and sweet, a perfect drink for the holiday season since it's a little bit like eggnog, only without the egg. While the classic version is served over ice, our version of the bourbon milk punch recipe is frozen, which means this concoction is great for a summer holiday, if you need a little bit of winter in July.

This milk punch recipe makes eight servings, so it's a great party drink. It's also a simple and easy cocktail to make. Start by making your own simple syrup, which is an equal amount of sugar and water heated together until the sugar dissolves. Make sure you let the simple syrup cool to room temperature before you add it to the other ingredients. You can also make the simple syrup a day or two before, so that it's ready to go when it's time to mix up this tasty cocktail.

Add whole milk, bourbon, vanilla extract, simple syrup and vanilla ice cream together in a blender and mix until smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture into glasses and garnish with nutmeg or other spices. You could add a cinnamon stick, too, as a fun stirrer. Gather your friends, hand out the glasses and enjoy this fun, frozen drink!
