Not familiar with dried beef? Here's what you need to know and how to use it in this creamy dip.

Dried beef isn't beef jerky. Dried beef, or chipped beef, is pressed, salted and dried beef that has been sliced into thin pieces. You'll find it at the grocery store in small jars or bags located near other canned meat. This chipped beef dip recipe balances the saltiness of the beef with the creaminess of cream cheese and sour cream for a dip that goes with everything. Your guests are going to love it.

Plus, it's a great low-carb option for keto guests or those on a low-carbohydrate diet. Like cream cheese dip combined with the deliciousness of dried beef, it's hard to beat.

All you need for dried beef dip is softened cream cheese, sour cream, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and diced dried chipped beef. It takes about five minutes (or less) of prep time to mix these ingredients together with an electric mixer. While you can serve this easy appetizer right away, this dip is even better when you make it ahead of time. Let it sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours, or even overnight, to let the flavors meld together. You can serve this cheesy dip cold, room temperature, or put the dip in a baking dish and bake for 20-30 minutes total time in a 350-degree oven.

This dried beef dip recipe is also easy to customize. Add pecans, green peppers, onion powder or chopped onions, horseradish, or jalapeño pepper. Smoked paprika would be great, too, to add more smokey flavor. Serve your dip with tortilla chips, baguette slices, rye bread, or veggies, It's even a great breakfast dip when you serve it with bagels!
