Savory Baked Cranberry Donuts

Every household has a Thanksgiving leftover tradition. While Ross from Friends preferred a huge sandwich with a gravy-dipped slice of white bread (the moist-maker, y'all!), we prefer a more breakfast-friendly treat.

These savory baked cranberry donuts pair perfectly with flavors of your holiday dinner table. Whip them up in 30 minutes and get ready for the most flavorful leftover meal you've ever had. Pile your turkey, stuffing, and gravy high.

Make sure to use fresh cranberries for this recipe and not canned. You can usually find fresh in the produce section during the autumn months or in the frozen section.

We like to use a donut pan to make these cake donuts. If you do not have a pan you can always use a muffin tin. While they won't look like donuts, these savory treats will be just as good.

How to Make Savory Baked Cranberry Donuts

Preheat your oven to 350F degrees and spray a donut pan with cooking spray and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, rosemary, and thyme. Whisk together the dry ingredients until no lumps remain.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine eggs, sour cream, sugar, butter, and vanilla extract. Stir together until combined. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients. Stir to combine until a sticky dough forms. Add orange zest and chopped cranberries and stir until combined.

Place 1/3 cup of dough in each donut round. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and cool completely on wire rack. You can either dust with powdered sugar and enjoy as is or build yourself a leftover sandwich. To build your leftover sandwich, slice each donut in half. Layer turkey, stuffing, and gravy until satisfied. Top with other donut half and eat!
