Rachael first met John at a mutual friend's party in 2004. Rachael didn't even think to have any romantic feelings towards him because she thought he was gay. She had even planned to set him up with one of her handsome Italian friends. When he assured he that he was not in fact gay, the American pair stayed out until 4am getting to know one another. The two fell in love immediately and got married in September of the fallowing year. The two exchanged their vows in a small ceremony at the Castello di Verona in Italy, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Although the couple doesn't have any children, they have an adorable dog named Bella Boo Blue. Ray's more well-known dog, Isaboo, passed away in May 2020, and she got a puppy a month later. The name Bella Boo Blue is in reference to her first love, Isaboo, along with an acknowledgment of her new pup's beautiful blue eyes.
