Jimboy's Tacos Opening 20 Southern California Locations

Jimboy's Tacos is moving to Southern California. The popular Northern California chain has announced the opening of 20 brand new locations throughout Orange County and surrounding areas. The taco chain famous for their parmesan-dusted tacos signed a franchise agreement with the All American Taco Company, allowing the company to share their taco love with the southern part of the state.

Jimboy's Tacos, Home of the Original American Taco, has been a household name for over 60 years. The company founded by Jim "Jimboy" Knudson after his search to make the best taco on the market has evolved into the current chain we know and love today.

Jimboy's Tacos

Since their beginning in a Tahoe food trailer in 1954, Jimboy's has deservedly earned a following of loyal patrons. The company offers a fresh menu featuring tacos, salads, grilled burritos, bowls, enchiladas, and signature items like the Original Ground Beef Taco. Relying on fresh beef, never frozen, this staple showcases the pride Jimboy's takes in serving up quality food.

Jimboy's isn't only about tacos, they're also about giving back to the community. With their "Dine and Donate" fundraising program, Jimboy's is supporting charity. Through this program, charities hosting an event at a Jimboy's location will receive 20 percent of sales when customers show the program flyer.

While Southern California has its own fan base following of local taco chains, Jimboy's unique take on one of a kind tacos thanks to their signature parmesan-dusted shell, interior design that pays homage to the initial food trailer, and charity support has set them apart. And with Southern California's love of all things taco, there is not doubt Jimboy's fan base is about to spread.

The Southern California locations will have a retro 50's car theme - inspired by their initial Tahoe food trailer. The interior will feature "retro design elements, natural wood, digital menu boards, historical prints, and stainless-steel attributes that mimic the food trailer from which the first tacos were served."

When discussing the big move, chief executive officer Bob Anderson stated,

"While continuing to pay homage to our roots, we have elevated the brand and are focusing on what makes Jimboy's one of a kind, our tacos! We're proud to partner with All American Taco Company to introduce Jimboy's Tacos to new guests throughout Southern California, and give residents the opportunity to experience for themselves why Jimboy's has been in business for more than 60 years."

Currently, Jimboy's has 38 locations throughout the states of California and Nevada, with two locations currently in Orange County. With the new franchise agreement, the company will now open up locations in Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, and Brea. The first new location is expected to open up this winter.
