The Most Popular Super Bowl Food in Every State Might Surprise You

What is Irish Stew?

Mid-February is quickly approaching and you know what that means; the Super Bowl is almost here! Super Bowl parties mean one thing: lots and lots of yummy Super Bowl snacks and apps. Chicken wings, nachos, sliders, jalapeno poppers, pretzels, you name it. But which is the most popular? Bid-on-equipment.com has the answer. Back in December, the brand surveyed 1,224 Americans and using the Google AdWords platform, analyzed search volume trends for more than 130 different types of Super Bowl food and snacks over the period of January 2019 to February 2019 in all 50 states and the 20 largest cities in the country. With all the data they were able to piece together the most popular Super Bowl food in every state.

The Most Popular Super Bowl Food in Every State

Do you agree with your state? According to the findings, dip is the most popular food to munch on during the big game in 20 states. But this isn't just guacamole or artichoke spinach dip. The dip that actually took the lead is 7 layer dip, which won the hearts of North Carolina, South Carolina, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Texas. Coming in second was buffalo chicken dip, a popular Super Bowl recipe in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Hawaii, and Florida. Other dips included blue cheese dip in Arkansas, Deleware, and Maryland, Hot cheese dip in Pennsylvania, and lobster dip in Washington.

When it comes to a single item, savory cocktail weenies take home the trophy, winning as the most popular game day food in Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. When it comes to Super Bowl Sunday these tiny hot dogs are always a popular treat served in the slow cooker.

Surprisingly chicken wings were only popular in Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Wyoming. Of those only Wyoming preferred crispy baked buffalo wings. The lack of this crowd-pleaser could mean more people purchase wings for their Super Bowl Party rather than make the party snacks at home.
