It's back! Popeye's is hiring a bunch of new employees (400 in total) to help with the sandwich demand. According to Bloomberg, the sandwich is set to hit 150 Popeye's restaurants in early November. Will these sandwiches continue to live up to the hype?

The chicken sandwich battle has a new contender. While fast-food giant Chick-fil-A has been sitting as pretty as a hen in her nest, a new chicken sandwich has been in the works at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant. And according to social media, the new Popeyes chicken sandwich reigns supreme over Chick-fil-A. This is a chicken war.
Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is Better than Chick-fil-A According to Customers
On August 12, the Popeyes Chicken fast-food chain added a new chicken sandwich to more than 3,000 restaurants nationwide. The chain has offered sandwiches before in test markets, however, it was never available nationwide. Now, the new sandwich is finally here and people are pumped. For only $3.99 fans of the chain restaurant can order a buttermilk-battered and hand-breaded white meat chicken breast fillet topped with pickles and spicy Cajun spread, served on a toasted brioche bun. If you prefer your fried chicken a bit milder, Popeyes offers a swap of classic mayonnaise instead of the cajun spread.
Popeyes and Chick-fil-A started a friendly feud on Twitter and soon after Wendy's (who just relaunched their spicy chicken nuggets) joined in.

"For a while, we've heard from our guests that they wanted to see a chicken sandwich at Popeyes," Felipe Athayde, Popeyes president for the Americas, said in a statement to USA TODAY. "We are always evolving our menu to accommodate guests' tastes."
According to The Takeout, there are a few key differences between the two sandwiches. Chick-fil-A focuses on a crisp chicken coating which is heavy on MSG. Opposed, Popeyes chicken features a "popcorn-ceiling exterior" which has a crunch that won't quit. Popeyes chicken breast filets also seem to be thicker than their counterparts. The addition of the spicy cajun sauce brings it over to the top.

Along with the new fried chicken sandwich, Popeyes also launched new Hand-Spun Milkshakes for $3.29. The milkshakes come in Vanilla, Chocolate, and Banana Foster.
