Nothing says Texas like Buc-ee's. Dotted across the Lone Star State, it's not a road trip without a stop at Buc-ee's to grab their famous Beaver Nuggets and a large Dr Pepper. Sweet and crunchy, Beaver Nuggets are one of Buc-ee's most iconic snacks and has incited a cult-like following. So it's no surprise that when Panther Island Brewing created a beer with Beaver Nuggets it sold out within a matter of hours.
Panther Island and Buc-ee's Beaver Nugget Beer
Ryan McWhorter, the head brewer and his coworkers working at Panther Island Brewing were munching on Beaver Nuggets one day when the idea struck. "We all really like Beaver Nuggets," McWhorter says, "and we were sitting around eating them and thought 'Why don't we put this in beer?'" McWhorter shares withThe Dallas Daily News. So the Fort Worth microbrewery team bought some beaver nuggets and dumped them into a brown ale. The 12-gallon batch was labeled Road Trip Snacks Brown Ale and was sold through the brewery's taproom where it sold out within a matter of hours.
Thankfully the brewery is already working on their second batch of the 6% ABV brew for late February with a release in mid to late March. According to Panther Island Brewing, the beer features a toasted caramel and maple flavor.

Located on 501 N Main St Fort Worth, Texas, Panther Island Brewing is a full-scale brewery located on the banks of the Trinity River.
