P. Terry's Adds New Breaded Chicken Burger to Menu

For the first time in 15 years, Austin-based P. Terry's Burger Stand is adding a new item to the burger joint menu. The news came from the fast food brand's Twitter account, where they announced new limited-time P. Terry's breaded chicken burger. Is this chicken sandwich the next contender in the chicken sandwich wars?

P. Terry's New Breaded Chicken Burger is Everything You've Ever Wanted

The burger features the chain's all-natural, fresh-ground chicken patty dipped in buttermilk and coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs and deep-fried. The fried chicken is topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and Swiss cheese. According to Twitter users, this crispy chicken burger is everything and more, and guests love the spicy option. CEO of P. Terry's Todd Coerver noted on social media that some of the burger chain locations are running out of the burger due to high demand.

The burger runs for $4.25 or $7.90 for a combo of french fries and a drink.

What is P. Terry's Burger Stand?

According to founder Patrick Terry, it all started with a book. After reading Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, Patrick was inspired to create a business that took their food and employees seriously. Hand-cut french fries, homemade veggie burgers, all-natural beef, and higher salaries for their employees propelled the Austin, Texas brand into the hearts of consumers.

The burgers are made with Black Angus beef and the veggie burgers are handmade with brown rice, crimini mushrooms, oats, and black beans. Bacon and jalapenos can be added on for an additional $.95 and $.25. For a side, a piping hot bag of fresh-cut fries hits the spot. And for dessert, don't forget to grab a slice of homemade banana bread.

Today the brand is looking to open eight new stores in the next two years, including a brand new location in San Antonio.
