Food Network's 'Outrageous Pumpkins' is Back and Spookier than Ever

Pumpkin carving is one of the best Halloween traditions, one that I never cease to do no matter how old I get. Whether you use a stencil (cheaters) or simply carve what comes to mind, nothing is more exciting than putting the candle in at the end to see how it's turned out. In the Food Network show Outrageous Pumpkins, pumpkin carving is taken to a whole new level with the most talented pumpkin carvers in the country.

In the show, host Alyson Hannigan invites seven expert pumpkin carvers to face-off for the title of Outrageous Pumpkins Champion, which comes along with $25,000. Each episode has a different theme, with challenges that go along with it, revealing each expert carver's ability to perform under pressure.

Those who enjoy the Food Network shows Halloween Wars and Halloween Baking Championship should love this competition-themed take on our favorite traditional Halloween pastime. Plus, it might provide inspiration for your own pumpkin carving this Halloween season!

Outrageous Pumpkins Season 2 Premiere

This TV show had four episodes in October 2020, from 3-D sculpting challenges to the final episode Giant Monster Bash, in which they had to carve giant pumpkins weighing 1,000 pounds each. At the end, judges Terri Hardin and Ray Villafane decided which contestant will go home as the champion, with the Halloween treat of $25,000.

This October, Outrageous Pumpkins is back with more ridiculous pumpkin carving contests! Season 2's release date is October 3 at 10 pm E.T., with the episode Jack-O'-Lantern Face-Off. In this episode, seven carvers will be challenged to carve three pumpkins into Jack-O'-Lanterns inspired by a cursed nursery rhyme. They'll then create a jack-o'-lantern display portraying what's under the ocean, bringing the competition to the next level of creativity and difficulty.

Tune in on Sunday, October 3rd to see which Outrageous Pumpkins this year's pumpkin carvers will create!
