Michael's Return Policy
This policy was created with the goal of keeping customers satisfied with their purchases. Being able to return items is essential when it comes to the products that Michaels sells since many of them are bought with specific projects in mind. The Michaels return policy has historically been valid for 180 days, but it unfortunately it is changing to a 60-day return policy from the date of purchase.
Whether you bought your item online at www.michaels.com or in-store, you can do a free return for the item you're unhappy with by bringing it to a Michaels store or by mailing it. The item in question should be new and unused, and it should be returned in its original packaging. To mail it, you need to start by calling Customer Care at 1-800-MICHAELS. The agent will prepare a return shipping label, which they will email to you. Print the return table, attach it to your package, and drop off your return item at a UPS location!

If you don't have a receipt, you'll need to present a valid photo ID. Michaels with then does their best to find a receipt by using the receipt lookup tool online with your Michaels Reward number. Once a receipt is found, the return will continue as normal, and the value of the store purchase will be verified by the Michaels team member.
For MichaelsPro purchases, you need a Return Authorization, which you can get by calling the support line at 1-833-MIKEPRO. However, there may be a restocking fee when necessary. Once you've presented your receipt or a Michael's team member has helped you find it, you can get to the important step- the refund!
The Refund Policy
Refunds are offered in the original method of payment. Therefore, if the item was bought with a credit card or debit card, you'll receive the amount back in cash. If the purchase was done with a gift card, you'll get a Store Return Card, allowing you to use store credit for your refund. If applicable, the original shipping and handling fees will be deducted from the refund value. As for the exchange policy, Michaels doesn't currently offer exchanges, but you can simply return the item you didn't like and place a new order.
One exception to the rule is regarding Michaels store purchases that were done with a check. Check purchases have a 10 day waiting period, so it's necessary to wait 10 days after buying your item to get a refund. Another option when it comes to check purchases is to receive a Return Card with store credit before 10 days have passed. Online purchases that were made with PayPal will be refunded in cash, just like credit card purchases. As for those who can't locate a receipt, the refund will be always be issued with a Store Credit Card.
The best part is, even if it's been 80 days and you weren't able to make it back to Michael's to return your item, you can still receive a Store Return Card for the full amount! Refunds are given at the item's lowest price sold within the last 90 days, so it might be slightly different than the original price.
Exceptions to the Return Policy
There are a few exceptions to the general policy. For one, Cricut Products are returnable and exchangeable only if the package hasn't been opened and the customer is able to show a receipt. Along with this, if the item is shown to be damaged during the manufacturer's warranty period, it must be returned directly to the manufacturer.
Gift Cards are not returnable, and Custom Framing orders must be redone at the same store location within two weeks of pickup. Additionally, classes offered by Michaels are refundable only up to the start date of the class. Along with this, Michaels reserves the right to limit returns and exchanges.
