Martha Stewart is known for her cooking, entertainment and decorating skills. No one can plan a better cocktail party or make a more delicious and aesthetically pleasing fruit tart than the legendary Martha Stewart. However, the most valuable thing that she left us was her recipes, which are varied and unfailingly delectable. Martha Stewart's banana bread is one of the classics that's hard to beat.
Martha Stewart's Banana Bread
Banana bread is perfect for a savory sweet snack, and it can be enjoyed for brunch, dessert, or whenever you feel like it. Overripe bananas are the best ones to use, as they have the most flavor. To add sweetness, add chocolate chips or even Nutella. Some even choose to add zucchini or Greek yogurt for an extra moist texture. For gluten-free banana bread, simply use gluten-free flour in place of all-purpose. Although these options will all yield a yummy loaf of banana bread, Martha Stewart's banana bread recipe is distinct in its own right- her expertly crafted mix of ingredients results in a moist, tangy banana nut bread.
Freezing and thawing over-ripe bananas before mashing creates a syrupy-thick juice, more like liquid gold, that bursts with sweet banana flavor and makes this loaf next-level delicious. https://trib.al/BMWSxfv

To accomplish this, Martha Stewart ingeniously uses sour cream in her batter. This adds the perfect subtle tartness and rich, moist texture to the quick bread. She also adds her own twist with the variation of cream cheese filling. On The Martha Stewart Show, she creates a mouthwateringly delicious cream cheese frosting-filled banana bread! This sweet dessert bread is ideal for Mother's Day or for a sweet treat-yourself moment. For more original recipes, check out marthastewart.com.
How to Make Martha Stewart's Banana Bread
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and butter a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Using an electric mixer with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar until texture is light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and beat until fully combined.
In a medium bowl, combine dry ingredients. After mixing together fully, add to the butter mixture and mix until combined. Be sure not to overmix! Add in bananas, sour cream, and vanilla, and mix until just combined. Stir in nuts.
Pour batter into prepared pan, and bake until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the middle of the bread comes out clean. Cooking time should be about 1 hour 10 minutes. About 10 minutes after taking it out, transfer bread to a cooling rack until it reaches room temperature.
If you choose to make the cream cheese frosting-filled banana bread, make the cream cheese frosting by beating the cream cheese, confectioner's sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in an electric mixer. Beat until smooth.
Once the bread is cooled, cut it in half horizontally, spread frosting on the bottom half, and replace the top half. Enjoy the best banana bread you've ever had!
