Over 95,000 Pounds of Johnsonville Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Recalled

You might want to check your fridge before you start making a big breakfast of eggs and sausage. According to the United States Department of Agriculture and Food Safety and Inspection Service, " Johnsonville, LLC., a Sheboygan Falls, Wis. establishment, is recalling approximately 95,393 pounds of its ready-to-eat jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage products that may be contaminated with extraneous material".

The jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage was produced and packed on March 12th and 13th and contain the Best By Date of 06/09/2019. You can find this label on the back of the packaging near the zipper side. The products also have the establishment number: EST. 34224 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The product was shipped to the following states: AL, AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, WI, WY. All retailers have been notified to remove the voluntarily recalled product from the shelves.

The problem was detected after a consumer found a green hard plastic in their product. While there have been no reports of injuries or reactions due to the consumption of these products, anyone concerned should seek medical care.
