"Started by Russ Fiorella in Kansas City back in 1957, Jack Stack began as a traditional storefront barbecue with a modest selection of five to six items. Jack Fiorella, the eldest son, worked with his father until 1974, when he decided to branch off and start Fiorella's Jack Stack of Martin City," as stated on their website.

It all started with their method of cooking meats over hickory wood. At the time in the 1970s, they had the most extensive menu in the nation. Everything from certified Angus beef to lamb ribs was available at this Kansas City Barbecue, beating out other barbecue restaurants with their huge sampler menu.

Today, this Kansas City BBQ has evolved into a full-service wood cookery, and offers catering, delivery, and excellent barbecue sauce around the nation.

What's on Jack Stack's Menu?

The company has 5 locations as of right now: Freight House, Country Club Plaza, Martin City, Overland Park and Lee's Summit.

At the Freight House location, their menu has an array of options. To try more of what Jack Stack Barbecue has to offer, order the Kansas City Combo. With it, you can choose from beef brisket, beef burnt ends, baby back ribs, beef ribs, pork spare ribs, and pulled pork. There's also a chicken options for all you barbecue chicken lovers, and you can of course choose your own BBQ sauce.

Even their sides sound tasteful, with hickory pit beans, cheesy potato bake, cheesy corn bake, coleslaw, and broccoli with roasted garlic butter.
