Bananas Foster French Toast

Rich and caramely, this Bananas Foster French Toast is fluffy on the inside and crusty on the outside served with bananas.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Challah bread loaf, sliced into 1/2 inch slices
  • butter

For The Topping

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar In a
  • 3 bananas, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl whisk together the eggs,milk, vanilla extract, salt and cinnamon. Soak the bread in the mixture for 3 minutes, turning once.
  • Meanwhile, heat up about 2 Tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bread and cook until browned, about 2 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining bread. Cover with foil to keep warm.

For The Topping

  • Meanwhile, prepare the topping by melting the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the brown sugar and stir until dissolved then drop in the bananas and stir until they are covered in sauce. Add cinnamon and heat until the bananas are heated through. Pour the mixture on the french toast and serve.

Notes

Serve this dish with maple syrup and butter if desired.
This makes a fun Sunday brunch meal.
