Apple versus pumpkin spice. There might be a never-ending debate over which fall flavor is best, but we think there's no reason these two seasonal favorites can't play well together in a hot pumpkin cocktail. Sure, for a great fall drink, you can always stick with your basic Pumpkin Spice Latte or mulled apple cider, but you can also bring the two flavors together in a perfect drink that will carry you through the season of crisp air and pretty trees.
Angry Orchard, the New York-based cider maker, agrees that you don't have to choose which flavor you like best if you combine them into one tasty fall cocktail. They've shared their cocktail recipe version of a spiced pumpkin and apple mashup that will delight anyone.
Angry Orchard's mixologist partner Jeremy Oertel created the Spiced Orchard, a hot pumpkin cocktail that features the hard cider maker's flagship cider Crisp Apple, along with aged rum and pumpkin spice syrup. This mouthwatering hot apple and pumpkin drink highlights the Crisp Apple cider's bright, apple forward flavor while incorporating thoughtful notes of pumpkin throughout. It successfully captures everyone's favorite fall flavors, satisfying both apple and pumpkin fans alike.
It's the best of apple pie and pumpkin pie all in one delicious hot drink. The cider brings both sweet and crisp into the mix, while the pumpkin syrup adds a taste of spice and dark rum makes it a party.

- 0.5 oz. Monin Pumpkin Spice Syrup
- 0.5 oz. Lemon Juice
- 1 dash Angostura Bitters
How to make: Heat all ingredients on the stove until warm. Pour into a toddy glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick and grated nutmeg.
Cinnamon Pumpkin Seeds
The perfect hot pumpkin cocktail should be paired with the perfect happy hour snack and we've got a roasted pumpkin favorite. All you need are pumpkin seeds either fresh from your Halloween jack o'lantern or from the grocery store and some seasoning.
