A mixture of shredded cheddar, mayonnaise, and peppers, southern-style pimento cheese is a favorite in these parts and Chick-fil-A knows it. Created as the first variation of the original Chick-fil-A sandwich, the new Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich is a drool-worthy new item hitting select location menus for a limited-time test.

Drizzled with honey and loaded with savory pimento cheese and mild pickled jalapenos for a little kick, the chicken filet is put together and served on a toasted bun. The new limited-time entrée item is here for a limited time in Asheville, North Carolina, and parts of upstate South Carolina. Thankfully I live in the Asheville area and was able to snag one of these brand new sandwiches.
According to Chef Stuart Tracy, one of Chick-fil-A's senior culinary developers, the new sandwich concept has been in the works for over a year. "This is the first variation of the Original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich we've tested as a seasonal item," said Tracy. "We have a feeling Guests will love it."
The new menu item was inspired by the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich which was a hit in 2019. According to Tracy the new fast food dish is on the milder side. "The jalapeños add what we call 'entry-level' spice," said Tracy. "They give the sandwich just a little kick, bringing a Southwest influence that pairs well with honey and pimento cheese."

I got the chance to try the sandwich myself and after one bite I was hooked on the melty cheese, sweet honey, and spicy jalapenos. It's a perfect balance between standout elements of hot and sweet!
