When Your DIY Turns to DI-Why, Hobby Lobby's Return Policy Has You Covered

If you frequent Hobby Lobby, you know how easy it is to check out with more items than you had planned. It's easy to browse the Oklahoma City based retailer for Silhouette machines, and the usual items you can find in crafts stores like Hobby Lobby and Joann. Maybe you saw a great hack and you'd like to snag the related items with a 40 off coupon, at its lowest selling price. Sometimes you can make out like a bandit, but other days, your debit card hurts, particularly after you add in sales tax. For those days, you might find yourself wishing for a hassle free return policy. Early on in my craft store adventures, I quickly learned about the Hobby Lobby return policy just so I would know what my options are for this little habit of mine. Surprisingly, they have one of the best return policies on the block.

Whether you have an online order or an in-store purchase, crafters love Hobby Lobby for their return options. First of all, you get a full 90 days. Not anything like business days and such, but a full 90 days to return most merchandise items for a full refund.

With home decor or running a business that requires crafts, this refund policy comes in handy. "Within 90 days of purchase, we will gladly exchange the merchandise, give store credit, or issue a refund based on your original method of payment. There will be a wait of 10 calendar days on check purchases, or merchandise credit can be issued," the retailer states on their website.

Now if you don't have the original store receipt, you still get 60 days to return items. The only problem is that you won't get your original payment form back. You can either exchange for another item, or take a store gift card. Although, 60 days is still so much time to hunt down your receipt.

Hobby Lobby stores also take back online returns as well.

"Items sold and shipped by HobbyLobby.com can be returned or exchanged to any Hobby Lobby store within 90-days of purchase. When returning merchandise to a Hobby Lobby Store, please be aware of the following," they shared.

  • The invoice must accompany the item(s) being returned in order to ensure the full purchase price is credited to a Hobby Lobby Gift Card.
  • Shipping and/or handling charges cannot be refunded at the store level.
  • Price adjustments for merchandise purchased online cannot be completed at the store level.
  • To obtain a copy of your invoice email, call 1-800-888-0321 or email us.
  • For questions regarding the in-store return of your online order, call 1-800-888-0321.

And if you can't make it out to the store, you can simply fill out their return form online and mail your product or online purchases back.

Talk about options! Other stores don't nearly have the same 90 day return policy. Take Walmart for instance. If I'm not mistaken, you have 30 days to get your full refund. Even though people rave about Amazon's returns, their system also has a short time frame.

So yes, go over to Hobby Lobby and pick up that Cricut you're still debating about. Swipe that credit card with assurance, and return it with a valid ID if you end up hating it.
