Every year right around Halloween, Starbucks seems to ramp up the buzz around the designs of its famous red holiday cup through different campaigns. It seems as though 2016 is shaping up to be the year of the 'Cups of Cheer'.
While last year there was a major backlash against the red cup designs of 2015, we can already guess that someone will find something to complain about with the designs for the red cup of 2016.
The red cups arrived in a few locations last week with the cheeky label, "No Peeking until November 10" on the boxes. However, one employee uploaded a photo of the cups to Imgur with the caption, "I peeked."
What do you think of this design? All things considered, it's fairly neutral and still manages to seem so holiday-focused with what looks like holly branches around the classic mermaid design.
Another design that has surfaced is a really beautiful, intricate snowflake design that is very Scandinavian and is just begging to be put on a sweater. We're definitely down for this style.
These designs come on the heels of the Cups of Cheer campaign that Starbucks is using to introduce new holiday flavors into the mix. Welcome back Eggnog Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Toffee Nut Latte. We're excited to welcome Fudge Hot Chocolate to the fold.
Thank goodness for employees who are as anxious as we are when it comes to seeing the new holiday designs! It may be Halloween, but we're already looking forward to the holiday season.
