East Fork Pottery: Get These Sustainable Pieces for the Cheapest Price

Pottery style dinnerware is definitely having a moment right now. It's clean, unique and goes perfectly with many house decor themes. This is especially true if you're going for the farmhouse look in your kitchen, which is also having a moment. If you're interested in switching to something new, you might want to look into East Fork Pottery.

What is East Fork Pottery?

East Fork Pottery is a company making and selling ceramic dishware out of Asheville, North Carolina. Alex Matisse, Connie Matisse and CFO John Vigeland are the minds behind it. Like his great-grandfather Henri Matisse, great-grandson Alex Matisse decided to follow a more artistic path than average. Alex and Connie met at a farmer's market, and later into their relationship, they invited John over for some wine and the idea of working together started brewing. They put together a wood kiln on an old tobacco farm and got to work. Together, they are the co-founders of the start-up, over a decade later.

The names comes from the farm where the company grew, in Madison County. As far as cookware goes, they thought of it all. There are plates, bowls, and cups, coming out of the kiln in different sizes and colors. The colors are what really sets this company apart, by creating each item in neutral colors. You can even buy sets of their pieces. Their pottery is so pretty, that the New York Times even wrote about it!

How Can You Buy East Fork Pottery?

You can buy the products directly on the company's website. That's the easiest way to get it shipped directly to your front door.

If you're in Asheville or Atlanta, you can go directly to their store. We highly recommend checking it out if this is your first time venturing into pottery. Stoneware is definitely different from your everyday glass dishware. With morel, taro, eggshell, and other rotating seasonal colors, it's hard not to find something for everyone.

We'll say that it can be pricy. A 7-piece dinner set will set you back close to $200. Multiply that by 4 to cover an average family, and that's a lot of money! Something as simple as a breakfast bowl is $26.

Fortunately, they're often having a sale. At the time of writing this article, the dinner set was $30 off. If you subscribe to their newsletter, you can also snag a few discount codes.

If you're not into the eggshell look, you can also check out other products by the company.
