Dunkin' Donuts + Catawba Brewing Debut Dunkin' Punkin Brown Ale

Dunkin' Donuts is partnering with Catawba Brewing Company to release their first-ever beer collaboration. The flavor of choice? A coffee, pumpkin brown ale called Dunkin' Punkin Brown Ale. With fall in the air and National Coffee Day just passing by, the collaboration couldn't have come at a better time.

While most coffee chains are serving up all things pumpkin spice this season, Dunkin' Donuts will be serving up their pumpkin coffee in the form of beer. Using a cold brew technique, the coffee pumpkin-flavored beer will feature Dunkin' Donuts flavorings. The limited edition small batch new brew will be available starting September 29, National Coffee Day.

This is most certainly a first for Dunkin' Donuts. Never before have they collaborated with another brewery in the states. Catawba will be the first in the nation to officially feature Dunkin' Donuts ingredients. With a widespread love of coffee beers, pumpkin beers, and collaborations in the craft beer industry, it's somewhat surprising that Dunkin' Donuts hasn't partnered with a brewery before.

So where can you get your hands on an ice cold pint? North Carolina-based Catawba Brewing will exclusively be serving Dunkin' Punkin at all four of its taproom locations in Charlotte, Morganton, and Asheville. For every pint the tasting rooms sell, one dollar will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Metrolina.

When discussing the collaboration for charity, Metro Buzz reports Field Marketing Manager of North and South Carolina Dunkin' Donuts Meaghan Duff stated,

"Craft coffee is at the core of our business so we like to brew up something for National Coffee Day that really delights our customers. That's when we hatched an out-of-the-cup idea - combine craft coffee and craft beer -- the perfect pair! To give it the local flare, we partnered with an established, family-owned brewery with a mission that caught our attention - create unique, small batch beers inspired by our communities and lifestyle.

Second Harvest was also a natural choice because of the mission of our foundation, The Joy in Childhood Foundation. Through the organization, we strive to provide the simple joys of childhood to sick and hungry kids; the proceeds from Dunkin' Punkin will go to help feed children and their families."

Thank you, Dunkin' Donuts and Catawba, you have given us another reason to drink for a cause. With only 60 kegs being released, you better hurry on in to one of the taprooms. Otherwise you'll have to settle for second best by dumping Dunkin' Donuts Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Coffee Pack into Catawba's Brown Bear Ale. Something tells me though, it just isn't the same.
