The flavor, which has been hush-hush for the past few months is finally out and fans are already ecstatic to try a can of Dr Pepper Dark Berry. Inspired by the new Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will be released on July 5, 2019, the new flavor encompasses the taste of blackberry, black currant, and black cherry. Welcome to the dark side.
Back at the beginning of April, the Dr Pepper account teased the new soda on their official Instagram account, sharing a picture of the date May, 1st and the caption, "This date seems... important ." Now, the brand has come forward and shared that Dr Pepper Dark Berry will, in fact, be released in stores nationwide on May 1. However, it looks like some people have gotten their hands on the limited-edition dark berry flavor a little earlier.

According to the Impulsive Buy, one case of the soda was spotted in a Jewel Osco. Those who attended the FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention also got the chance to try the soft drink before the official release date. According to one Redditor, "It actually tasted really good. I'll probably get some more when it comes out".
Fans will be happy to hear the new flavor is loosely inspired by Spider-Man villain Mysterio, who happens to be played by Jack Gyllenhaal.
