Country music legend Dolly Parton has brought us joy in more ways than we can count. From her beautiful, catchy songs to Dollywood to her upbeat, inspirational outlook on life, the world wouldn't be the same without her. The singer's latest venture is into the culinary world, and Dolly fans couldn't be more excited. She recently released her Duncan Hines-Dolly Parton baking mixes, and we can't wait to try them.
Dolly Parton-Duncan Hines Baking Mixes
Dolly Parton and Duncan Hines joined together to create Dolly's Southern Favorites, a line of Southern cake mixes and frostings inspired by her most beloved family recipes. The cake mixes they created are a Southern Style Banana Flavored Cake Mix and a Southern Style Coconut Flavored Cake Mix. Make a Southern Style Coconut Cake or Banana Puddin' Cake, or use the cake mixes to create your own recipe!
Dolly has always loved cooking, which she says comes from her childhood. "I love to cook and I learned to do that growing up in the mountains of East Tennessee. My mom was a great cook, all my aunts and my grandma, so of course, I learned to cook that good ol' southern stuff," she told "CBS Mornings" co-host Gayle King.
Her love of cooking and Southern recipes has already led her to create a number of products, from her bakeware set to her advent calendar to her tea towels. She also released a cookbook in 2006 called "Dixie Fixin's," featuring over 100 recipes that originate from her childhood, travels and Dollywood.
This latest culinary adventure just continues Dolly Parton's love of cooking, sharing it with home bakers across the country. In a release, Parton said "I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking. I am excited to launch my own line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, bringing that sweet, Southern-style baking experience I enjoy to others."
How to Get a Dolly Parton Baking Collection
To introduce the new partnership, Duncan Hines released a limited number of Dolly Parton's Baking Collection Kits on Wednesday, January 26th. They sold out within 15 minutes! Along with the baking mixes, the collection includes Creamy Buttercream Frosting, Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, and accessories like a collectible tea towel, spatula, and custom recipe cards, all for $40. Most exciting of all, the kits include a letter from Dolly herself.
Fortunately, you can sign up here to see when the limited-edition collections will be back in stock. Plus, Duncan Hines says that the mixes and frostings will be available on grocery store shelves starting this March, for about $2 each.
