When you choose Delta Airlines, you can now fly classy thanks to their new perk of complimentary prosecco. Whether you're first class or crammed back in coach, everyone on an international flight will now be offered a glass of everyone's favorite Italian bubbly beverage. Turning every flight into a special occasion, it looks like the main cabin just got a special reason to celebrate.
Complimentary alcoholic beverages are no new thing when it comes to Delta's international flights. Beer, wine, and spirits have been a free staple for everyone on board. There's just something though about traveling internationally with a sparkling glass of prosecco in hand that feels like you're flying in style.
Lisa Bauer, Delta's Vice President On-Board Services, on the new perk:
"Sparkling wine is often the first choice for a celebration and we know how special it is for people to jet off on a trip so we wanted to bring the celebration to them. Offering complimentary chef-curated food and drinks throughout the flight is one of the things that sets Delta apart and we're upping the ante again with our mini bottles of Prosecco."
As of October 5th, all international flights will now have the choice of a complimentary glass of prosecco, sorry domestic flights. The brand of choice? Avissi prosecco, which runs around $12 a bottle. While it may not be the most expensive bottle, it's still free, so you don't have to worry about the previous $9 fee.
This means no matter where you're seated on the flight, you can start the celebration of your trip overseas as soon as you board the plan. Delta has also brought back free meals in economy on select flights throughout the United States, and has begun offering free in-flight texting. As many airlines have dropped perks and charge for baggage, it's nice to see some customer appreciation return, even if it is limited.
Along with the main cabin getting an added perk, so is Delta Cabin One. Business customers are being offered a specially selected food and wine pairing menu. The flavors of autumn will be paired with a wine list carefully selected by Delta's Master Sommelier, Andrea Robinson. So whether your flying Cabin One, or are back in the Main Cabin, there's a little something extra for everyone.
