The 10 Best Coffee Syrups For Spring-Inspired Coffee Drinks

It's all about the craft coffee drinks and concoctions. Sure, a cup of black coffee poured from a Mr. Coffee machine will get the job done, but it's not as romantic or exciting as a tall French vanilla rose latte topped with edible flower petals. I'm all about romanticizing life and enjoying the little things, so having a few season-inspired coffee syrups stocked on my home coffee cart is a must for those days when a black cup of coffee won't cut it.

While I do love heading down the block to the local coffee shop frequently, I also enjoy making my own craft coffee drinks using my espresso maker, coffee frother, and some coffee beans. It's fun to make and I get to chose exactly what goes into my cup.

When it comes to sweeteners, flavoring syrups are my favorite way to add a little bit of sweetness to my drinks. Unlike pure cane sugar which ends up half-dissolved at the bottom of the cup, coffee syrups blend effortlessly into whatever I am drinking. They are also shelf-stable and come in sugar-free varieties as well.

I like to keep simple syrup (an equal mixture of water and sugar), vanilla syrup, and Ghirardelli chocolate syrup always on hand, no matter the season. These three coffee syrups make it easy to make one-off recipes depending on what I've got in the garden or the fridge.

When it comes to coffee syrups, there are only a select number of brands (and flavors) available at the grocery store including Monin, Torani, DaVinci, and Jordan's Skinny Syrups. Of those, you can usually only find the best sellers such as hazelnut syrup, caramel syrup, vanilla syrup, chocolate syrup, and peppermint syrup in the wintertime.

When it comes to purchasing seasonal coffee syrups, I highly suggest Amazon, the brand websites, and stores such as T.J. Maxx and World Market.
