This Texas-Based Chocolate Company Has Chocolate Truffles for All Taste Buds

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. It's time to get those last-minute gift orders placed. At this point, it may be best to play it safe with chocolates and flower arrangements. Dinner is always a great idea, though. If you were planning an oyster dinner (in hopes of having aphrodisiac food), choose a different restaurant, because chocolate is all you need.

Chocolate truffles are perfect Valentine's Day gifts. Who doesn't love chocolate? I got the chance to try a Texas-based chocolate company's take on sensual chocolate truffles. I have to say; these flavors are unique. While I wasn't a fan of a couple, I do have one flavor that I'm dying to have again!

How Do Aphrodisiac Foods Work?

Some believe aphrodisiacs increase blood flow and energy levels. Thanks to your nerve endings, aphrodisiacs may help others feel more connected to their loved ones.

Natural Aphrodisiac Foods

  • Pumpkin Seeds
  • Watermelon
  • Maca
  • Ginseng
  • Pomegranate juice
  • Pine nuts
  • Cacao
  • Watermelon

Aphrodisiac qualities consist of foods that release endorphins to the brain. Maybe Greek goddess of Love Aphrodite and Cleopatra were fans of dark chocolate and avocado?

One word: delicious. Red wine is known for being an aphrodisiac, so I'm glad Delysia played it safe for us. This truffle tastes exactly like red wine, cream, and cherries. My goodness, I need an entire box, and not to share.

I was so sad when I ate the last one. If anyone wants to send me a last-minute gift, I'll take a box of Merlot Cherries & Cream!

Chipotle Orange Chocolate Truffle (mustache design)

I've never had chocolate that tasted like oranges and chili peppers. Since chili peppers are natural aphrodisiacs, it makes sense that this truffle is infused with them. I did get hints of smoky spice from the flavor. I'd say that men would probably like this truffle.

Honestly, I did spit it out once I got the hints of smoky spice. It didn't work for me because I'm not a fan of 'orange zest.' I love oranges, but simply the taste of it alone. After thinking about it, I can see why a smoky flavor will excite some. Maybe it brings them back to a time sitting by a romantic fireplace.

Truffled Honey Ginger Chocolate Truffle (corset design)

Okay, ladies, I thought this one would be for me once I saw the corset design. I did enjoy the taste of walnuts, although the burst of gingered balsamic and lemon was overwhelming. If I had to pick, I'd choose Chipotle Orange over this flavor.

This flavor did get my heart rate up, but merely because I had to force myself to finish eating after tasting the tartness. Admittedly I wasn't a fan of it because of the lemon zest and woody aromas. The lemon was a bit too sour for me.

Again, I think men with a taste for unique spices would enjoy this flavor. I love that the walnuts and figs in the center are a symbol of fertility. The designs are impeccable on these truffles.
