Chief Hopper from Stranger Things Has His Own Double IPA

Netflix and chill may have taken on a new meaning. We have seen plenty of foods to eat while watching Netflix, but what is there to drink? A nice, cool cocktail may do the trick. Would you rather a beer? If you answered "yes" to that, then this article is for you. While most of the Stranger Things cast is indeed underage, not all of them are. Season two's hero, Chief Hopper, seems to survive on unhealthy breakfasts and booze. In honor of that, he's getting his own beer. That's right, Chief Hopper from Stranger Things has his own IPA.

We've seen some creative IPAs over the past few years. Between double IPAs, imperial IPAs, and IPAs aged in baseball bat wood, the sky is the limit when it comes to brewing this style of beer. Short's Brewing Company is no stranger to good old IPAs, and they've brewed a special one for Chief Hopper.

The Chief Hopper Double India Pale Ale is, believe it or not, a double IPA. It gets its smooth citrus taste from a variety of hops, including Vic Secret, Simcoe, and Centennial. You'll smell pineapple, mango, grapefruit, and pine on this one. It pours a deep golden color with a fairly dense white head.

The hop selections were based on Chief Hopper's character, according to Food & Wine. Its brewers, the lovely people of Short's Brewing Company, are based in Michigan. That said, it goes without saying that the brewery is there too.

Michigan-based readers can head to Short's to see if they still have it on tap. If you don't live in Michigan, though, you may be able to find the Chief Hopper Double India Pale Ale at a liquor store near you. You can use the Short's Brewing Company beer locator to snoop around.
